Lake View near Stavanger, Norway

It was an incredible little drive along this lake and it was hard to find just the right place to stop to capture the view. The mountains seemed to go back on and on, and over to the right, beyond this view, a small group of white houses hugs the mountain slope on a little patch of sunny green. This is the last in my series of three for the Virtual Paint Out.

  1. I love the effect you've achieved in this painting. Is it also scratchboard and acrylic?

  2. Yes, it is Ampersand claybord...I really like this product. You can finish it with clear glazes and frame it without glass as it has a hard masonite back.

  3. I've been noticing your unique style as well. I really like the effect you achieve. What tool do you use for scratching?

  4. The scratch tool I use right now looks like a very fine pen nib in a brown holder.
